Welcome to Pack 101

Cub Scout Pack 101 is dedicated to preserving the long-standing tradition of Cub Scouts by building boys’ confidence, leadership skills, and personal growth through hands-on experiences, as well as family participation.

Cub Scouting is a year-round program uniquely designed to meet the needs of boys and their parents. The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness. Through positive peer group interaction and parental guidance, boys also learn honesty, bravery, and respect. Cub Scouting teaches boys “do your best” and “to help other people.” Scouting prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. Scouting promises friendship, adventure, and responsibility.

Family involvement is an essential part of Cub Scouting and parents are encouraged to take an active role in the program. Through interaction between parents, leaders, and friends, boys learn citizenship, compassion, and courage. This family and community-centered approach to learning means that Cub Scouting is truly time well spent.

Pack 101 is for 1st–5th grade boys attending Our Lady of Peace and Kingswood Academy Schools, but all boys of that age are welcome to join.

Some of our events include: building and racing Pinewood Derby cars, building and launching model rockets, Pack campouts, attending Civil War re-enactments, building and racing model sail boats, attending Chicago Wolves hockey games, and shared events with Boy Scout Troops.

Pack 101 meets one Wednesday a month, which include all grades of boys First through Fifth. Then, each grade of boys meets separately to learn things at their own level and have fun. Each grade has its own meeting dates.

If you would like to join our Pack or get further information, please contact our Cubmaster, Joe O’Connor.
